Tips needed

I am about to start potty training Teebs. He doesn't want to be potty trained and I don't want to potty train him so my motivation is pretty low but I don't want or need 3 kids in diapers and if I don't do it now it could be this time next year before I get him trained. But then at least I could do Miss May and Teebs together. I have tried all the tricks that worked with Piper. Treats, rewards, new big boy undies (that he can pick out but refuses cause he doesn't want to wear them), a cool froggy potty, etc etc......
Any tips for potty training a boy that doesn't want potty trained?

I have been potty-training Eric since before he turned 3. He is now almost 5 and had 5 accidents last week. I don't think I have much advice to offer. Part of me says that if he has no interest, just don't do it now. It will be more stressful for you. But then I think about 3 kids in diapers and I start to hyperventilate.

One thing that worked well for the boys was simply going naked/bottomless. Helped them recognize the signs. Of course, that only worked until Eric started loving undies too much to be without them.

Good luck!

3 has been the magic age with all my boys..but i do think it's different for every kid. i totally feel you on 3 kids in diapers. but maybe if he's not ready..i say save yourself the stress. it would be a good idea to do 2 kids at once. i thought it would be hard with the twins but it was easier than with bastien! i think they saw eachother do it and it made them more motivated.
good luck with whatever you decide!

Having potty-trained 2 boys, my advice is to wait! I started each boy about a month or so before their 3rd birthday. Bowen had it by the time he turned 3. Kaden did not. Rewards did not work for Kaden. For him it was a matter of deciding he wanted to do it. At that age they are definitely old enough to understand what they are supposed to do.

Good luck! 3 in diapers does NOT sound cool, but I'd rather do 3 in diapers than 2 in diapers and one pooping in his underwear and peeing down his leg.

Training a boy was so different than a girl. No matter what I did with Beckham he didn't potty train until he decided it was time. No treats, toys.... anything worked. And he didn't care if he had poppy underwear. If he's not ready just wait. Because diapers are so much easier to change than underwear or even pullups. Just let him be a boy and when he decides it will be instantly trained. Beckham was 3 1/2 and was instantly trained and no accidents since! Good luck

I agree with all these ladies Nikki. I don't think it is possible to train a boy that doesn't at least have some motivation to do it already. Save yourself the stress and do it when he is ready.
