Just add it to the list....

I took me glucose test for the pregnacny (6 weeks late) and got the results at my doctor visit today. It turns out I have gestational diabetes. I have had sugar problems with all the pregnancies but it usually consisted of low sugar levels and had to eat lots of sugar or I would pass out, and I did and do often. But now all the sugar eating has back fired and I am now diabetic till I deliver. Now I can't have sugar so I hope I don't pass out all the time, but I am anemic with this pregnancy, along with severe back pain and migraines, lactose intolerant and now diabetic! I have to go to my doctor's office weekly, get hooked up to monitors every two weeks to check the baby, take the glucose test every three weeks, change my diet with limited sugars till I deliver. I only have less than 6 weeks, but with my history I will go overdue and have to deal with this for probably 8 more weeks! (My doctor said he wouldn't induce me this time till I am at least 7 days overdue!) Maybe that will change now that I am diabetic (let's hope anyway) The only thing that really bothers me is how much all my complications are bothering my husband! He worries about me so much during pregnancy and lately every other day some new complication is popping up and I think it is really starting to worry my wonderful husband. I want to reassure him that I am fine, but I don't know for sure just how fine I am? I just want to have this baby and NOT get pregnant FOR A LONG LONG time!! We will see how well that goes!?

I am sorry you have to be diabetic for a few months. You can do it though! And you will most likely feel much better once you change your diet...well a "better" feeling as a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester can feel. Good luck with everything.

Oh, Nikki. This sucks. Does your doctor realize how big your babies are? And how small you are? And that you already have two little ones and even an extra 7 days is A LOT?! I hope he can be convinced of at least inducing on your due date.

And now all of these doctor appts.....I just wish I could watch your kids while you go. Or something. :p

I hate that for you! I had gestational diabetes with Noah and actually felt the best of any of my pregnancies once I started the diet. Good Luck!! Let me know if you need me to watch the babies for you to go to the doctor. I'd be glad to help!
